De reikwijdte van de NIS2 wordt met deze update vergroot en de regelgeving rondom cyberbeveiliging wordt aangepast. In Nederland wordt deze richtlijn vertaald naar de Cyberbeveiligingswet (Cbw). Deze wet wordt begin 2025 van kracht, iets later dan gepland.
